Former Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton and her rugby player husband Richie Myler decided to open up about their impending arrival in a candid interview with HELLO! magazine, saying: "We know our little baby will change our lives completely, and so it should."
The couple, who tied the knot in a Cumbrian church last year, discovered that Helen was expecting after she began to feel unwell during a holiday in Florida last December.
Helen, who is due in June, recalled feeling unwell, but couldn't account for her symptoms, saying: "We weren't drinking but I felt like I had a hangover. We thought it was heat and sun but a little bit of us was wondering . 'What if...?' "
The couple admit that seeing the positive pregnancy test surprised them more than they thought it would, saying: "Even though we suspected it, we were in shock."
The smitten pair, who have resolved to keep their baby's sex a mystery until they meet the little one, happily chat about the effect the new arrival will have on their extended family, saying: "This is the first grandchild. Our parents will be fighting over the baby!"
