Barcelona star Lionel Messi missed training this morning due to “family matters”, and it has been confirmed that those “matters” were in fact his long-term partner giving birth to a baby boy.
The 27-year-old only returned from International Duty in America yesterday, so he got home just in time to give Antonella Roccuzzo the support she needed. The couple have also reportedly named their youngest son Benjamin.
Lionel and Antonella have been together since 2008, and are already parents to three-year-old Thiago.
The sports star took to social media four months ago to reveal that Antonella was pregnant, sharing an adorable picture of Mum and Thiago, writing: "Can't wait to welcome you into our world!!! We love you! Thiagui, mum and dad."
