The 33-year-old princess, who announced her pregnancy last year in order to quell media speculation, has welcomed a son into the life she shares with husband Chris O' Neill and daughter, Princess Leonore.
The couple, who wed on June 8th 2013, are overjoyed by the new arrival and intend to raise their two children in London as the family have plans to relocate to financier Chris' native country.
Informing the public of the wonderful news, a statement which was published on the royal family's Facebook page this afternoon read: "The Marshal of the Realm is delighted to announced that HRH Princess Madeleine gave birth to a son on June 15th at 1.45pm."
Paying tribute to both Princess Madeleine and her son, the statement continued: "Both mother and child are in good health."
Having delighted fans of the royal family with snaps of their little girl Leonore in recent months, we hope the doting parents are just as keen to share a sneak peek of their newest arrival!
