Still no sign of the product arriving. Anyone else still waiting?!

Hiya, I did indeed I put them in together and it was perfect I was a bit weiry but it was grand.

So I did two more washes today usng the Dettol Cleanser. The first wash was a dark wash on 30 degrees using my washing liquid and the cleanser. They washed really well and had a nice lavender scent. The second wash was light coloured towels thatt I would usually wash on 60 degrees. I washed them on 30 degrees and I used the Dettol Cleanser with my fabric softner in the same drawer. Once again very pleased with the wash and I was delighted that I could use my softner especially on towels. I will definitley be purchasing Dettol Cleanser in future as It is so good to know that the clothes are germ free and I can save energy using a low temp wash. I am already recommending it to friends and family. Thank you Dettol for introducing this to my household.

Thanks Rhoda I'll do one wash like that tomorrow and see today I bought bold 2n1 on offer in dunnes and have done one wash with that and it's made a huge difference with the towels the fragrance is lovely, love the lavender scent and not the softness As I mentioned have my 6 month old nephew here and the bibs covered in food have come out perfect and that was on a 30 degree wash.
im very pleased with the produce now I can get the softness back in the clothing.

Because we purchase many of the dettol products and use them around the house and for sanitizing I'am more than familiar with the brand and happy with it. Couldn't wait to start using a new product of theirs. After receiving the bottle I put it straight to work. The lavender smell is wonderful when adding it to the wash. I used it along with the normal fabric softener and detergent and I am more than happy with using this product. I love that I can wash all the toddler and newborn items in a 30 degree wash and feel safe knowing the bacteria is still rid of. This is especially helpful when washing some of those soiled items that are thrown in. That would be my main concern in using this product and would continue to purchase it knowing that its getting my families clothers and miscellaneous items cleaned and rid of all that unwanted bacteria. Before this product I never knew that was a matter to even consider. I thought my normal washes were getting rid of all this.
I must say I absolutely recommend this product and I will be purchasing it again and again. Thank you Dettol and Mummypages!!

I've used dettol products before escpecially in the kitchen and bathroom and always been happy with the results. I specifically wanted to try this product out as i use cloth nappies and I thought it would be great to use when i wash these to get them clean. I was very happy with it when I've used it as well. Its easy to use and gives good results and smells very nice. For everyday use in normal washing i don't see the need for it. The washing might not get to be sterile in low temperatures but i don't see any reason why it would have to be. All in all for me a great product to use in really dirty washes but unnecessary for everyday washing.

@ Halesibop - Based on your post it seems that you didn't use regular detergent in your wash and replaced it with the cleanser. It is not a detregent just a bacteria cleanser, you still need to use your regular detergent with it. This may explain why some of the heavier stains remained after the wash. Also I used my softner in the drawer with the cleanser and it worked fine. Hope this helps.

Mine arrived and I got stuck in straight away, stripped all the beds, and added two cupfulls to my conditioner, it was brillian! Sheets were clean and fresh and great to know that it's toally bacteria free. I'm afraid we have a little one in the house who loves nothing better than our little woofer sleeping on his bed, so I'm always a bit worried. With Dettol Laundry Cleanser, I can now rest easy and know 100% that the sheets are utterly clean. Gorgeous smell too, and soft. Brilliant. Would recommend (and have already to my mum, sisters and friends) in a heartbeat. Will definitely be in the shopping trolly. Thanks for letting me try it out. Brilliant.

I have heard of Dettol products before and had tryed your counter spray. I would have chosen Dettol over other brands if they were cheaper, and had'nt heard of your Laundry Cleanser before this trial. Dettol Laundry Cleanser is easy too use and has a realy fresh smell to it. The benifits of it is your laundry is realy clean and fresh at lower temperatures. I would definitly use it again in every wash and recommend it to my friends and family.

When I was growing up, Dettol was the only disinfectant brand in our house so I am very well aware of the brand. I can still remember the orange liquid in the old fashioned bottle, used on everything from cuts and bruises to wiping dirty sinks and bins! I have faith in the antibacterial properties of Dettol and I believe it genuinely works to kill all harmful germs. It has stood the test of time and I am still a loyal customer so I was delighted to have been chosen to test the new Dettol Laundry Cleanser.

I frequently buy Dettol products and, as a disinfectant, it is really the only brand I consider. I find the Dettol Complete Spray and Cleansing Surface Wipes extremely useful - great for wiping down counters, a handy addition for any kitchen. The Dettol Complete Clean Mould and Mildew Remover and Bathroom Trigger do wonders in the bathroom. Having them nearby makes that dreaded task of cleaning loos and showers a little bit easier.

Before this trial, I had not heard of Dettol Laundry Cleanser. I’m not sure why I never discovered it as I tend to scour the supermarkets for the latest trends and inventions. I think the idea of a Laundry Cleanser that will do a thorough job of killing bacteria, even when washing at a low temperature is very innovative and clever. Anything I can do to provide a hygienic home environment and safeguard against bacteria is a must. It is especially important in a household full of young children where germs spread easily, quickly and dangerously.

Like many others, I regularly do washes at 40 degrees Celsius but I have reservations about this. We are constantly told that low temperatures are not effective and will allow germs to fester, multiply and transfer easily between garments. I was also shocked to learn that washing at this temperature leaves items with only 14% less bacteria than unwashed items – yuck!

I know that a large number of the better laundry detergents will work effectively but it is still a concern for me particularly because I mix a range of clothes in any given wash – teatowels, underwear, pillow cases, sheets, aprons. I shudder to think of the dirt and contamination in any given laundry wash, especially if family members are ill or clothes are covered in stains. This product is both effective and clever, I can wash at my desired low temperature but still have the confidence that the wash will not just be clean, but hygienically clean and in my view, there is a big difference.

I was very satisfied with Dettol Laundry Cleanser and how easy it was to use. I just added it into the fabric softener drawer at the same time as the detergent and let it get to work. Based on my experience I will definitely buy it again. The result after the wash was fresh, clean and pleasantly aromatic clothes which I was confident were completely germ free. In fact, I’m even tempted to ditch my regular detergent and use this on its own, as it leaves a lovely fresh lavender scent, the clothes felt softer and even felt cleaner – although perhaps that’s just psychological!

We weren’t told the price of the product and as always, with all household products, I consider price to be extremely important. I do realise that this is an important product for the safety and well being of the whole family so I would pay a slight premium for the extra benefits and the reliability of an established, reputable brand. However, as it is meant to be used in addition to regular detergent, I would only purchase it if it was affordable for me. As usual, I love special offers so it would be an added attraction for me if perhaps there was a discount for buying more than one. One thing I would change would be the look of the product. It’s very uninspiring, just a white bottle, no colour or fancy design - nothing to catch the eye while out shopping.

In addition to being used by the regular consumer, I think it would be a great product to use in hospitals and restaurants to help prevent the spread of flu, MRSA and food poisoning, which seem to resurface every year without fail. An aggressive marketing campaign should get the message across and I think the product will have an appeal across a very wide market. Many of my friends and my sisters have young families where laundry and cleaning play a very large part of the daily routine (unfortunately!). I think they would have the same concerns as I would about washing at low temperatures so I will definitely recommend they experiment with this new product.

While washing with a regular detergent will get the laundry adequately clean and fresh, I think this product adds something extra – the reassurance that “real and hygienic” cleanliness will be guaranteed and also the reduction in potential cross contamination. I know it is never possible to kill all bacteria but i believe that the reputation and guarantees made by Dettol together with the background research and the results of laboratory tests speak for themselves. I would be very happy not to have to do the tiresome laundry task but if I have to do it, I want to be confident that I am using only the best. I have faith in the product and the brand and I, for one, will be purchasing it again. That is, unless somebody decides to do my laundry for me!!

I used my Dettol Laundry Cleanser on two washes. I use Dettol products everyday - Hand Wash, Surface Cleanser and Disinfectant Spray. So was delighted to be choosen for this trial. I would normally choose Dettol brand as it's the first brand I know and trust. I seen an ad on TV a few weeks ago for the Dettol Laundry Cleanser - couldn't wait to try it out. I love the lavender scent. It left my washing smelling great and it kills 99.9% of bacteria so great for my childs clothes. Very easy to add to any wash - pour in drawer. Will use it in all my washes now. Would recommend to others. Thanks very much for choosing me for this trial :)

Well firstly I wasn't aware of a product that could kill bacteria in your wash. I just presumed that the washing powder did this. So, I was delighted when I received the prodcut for the trial. Everyday I do use the wipes, I feel that they are more superior than j-cloths/sponges to clean down surfaces, so it is a brand I trust. I have used the dettol cleanser in about 12 washes (I have twins, so I wash a lot). To my delight, it didn't smell like a 'dettol' brand, as this was a concern for me. I liked using it because it was a simple add on to my softner. It's compact, easy to pour and doesn't take up much space. I would recommend the product to friends due to the 'bacteria' problem. I have used Dettol cleaning wipes, Dettol Mold and Mildew Remover and am very happy with them . I had heard about the new Dettol product before this trial, at Pregnancy and Baby Fair, Dublin. Thank you for giving the option to try it. Most of the times I wash all the family laundry together (even bedding and towels), at 40 degrees. I like the Dettol mild scent , but it has gone after washing , left only detergent or softener scent . The performance of this product is hardly possible to estimate for the average consumer. So remains only to rely on the manufacturer. It is good to know that i can wash my clothes at a low temperature and this product can kill germs and bacteria. I’m happy that the product is suitable for babys clothes. But this information is not indicated on the packaging. I read this in booklet. Also I used this product for floor cleaning. Floor mop really is full of germs and bacteria. After cleaning, the floor remained pleasant lavender scent.

Hi we received our bottle of laundry cleanser last week and have being using it since. I love the the dettol brand and have being using it for years by favorite product is the multi purpose spray. I always buy this product over any other one. I did hear about the the dettol cleanser before the trial but thought it was a bit expensive so never bought it. I followed the instructions on the cleanser and must say I didn't notice any difference with my clothes. I don't no would I buy it again as it is a bit pricey. What I would like to see is it mixed into a washing liquid or even included in a fabric softer. I found I couldn't add softer when adding two caps of the dettol cleanser. I would recommend this product as I like the idea of it but think it would be a much better product if it washed the clothes as well or softened at the end, if this was the case I would buy it straight away, the only other way I think I would buy this product would be if it was on special offer. But overall I like the dettol brand as it gives u piece of mind with kids and works well. Thanks again for letting us take part in the trial.
