The movie industry went into mourning in November 2013 following the tragic and untimely death of 40-year-old actor Paul Walker.

The star, best known for his role as Brian O'Connor in film franchise Fast & Furious, died following a car crash in southern California and now, according to emerging reports, his daughter, Meadow Rain Walker, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche.

The suit, which was filed on Monday on behalf of the teen, claims that the sports car in which the much-loved actor was driving had a number of design flaws which contributed to his death despite an initial investigation citing excessive speed as the reason for the crash.

Speaking in March 2014, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Commander, Mike Parker said: "Investigators determined the cause of the fatal solo-vehicle collision was unsafe speed for the roadway conditions."

Clearly dissatisfied with the findings, Paul's daughter, who often pays tribute to her father on social media, has chosen to sue Porsche.

It has been established that the lawsuit claims that Paul's vehicle 'lacked safety features that are found on well-designed racing cars or even Porsche's least expensive road cars - features that could have prevented the accident or, at a minimum, allowed Paul Waker to survive the crash."

Commenting on the case, an attorney for the family, Jeff Milam, said: "The bottom line is that the Porsche Carrera GT is a dangerous car. It doesn't belong on the street."

Paying tribute to the actor and his 38-year-old friend who also perished in the tragic incident, Jeff continued: "We shouldn't be without Paul Walker or his friend, Roger Rodas."

Calvin Kim with Porsche Cars North America outlined their stance on the matter without going into the specifics of the lawsuit.

"As we have said before, we are saddened whenever anyone is hurt in a Porsche vehicle, but we believe the authorities' reports in this case clearly established that this tragic crash resulted from reckless driving and excessive speed," they asserted.

Meadow had turned 14-years-old three weeks prior to her father's tragic death.
