We know our bodies better than anyone else, and even the slightest little ache or pain should never be ignored.

Sarah Cawood can testify to this advice, after a complication with her C-section scar almost killed her.

The presenter – who is mum to four-year-old Hunter and three-year-old Autumn – shared her frightening experience from last April today, on Loose Women.

The former Live & Kicking star explained that her scar had become twisted around her bowel and turned gangrenous.

She was rushed to A&E after she began suffering excruciating pain one night, seven months ago.

It turned out that the blood supply to Sarah’s bowel had been cut off, causing her body to develop septicaemia.

“I was 24 hours from death,” said the 44-year-old, who went on to show her scar off to viewers.

She added: “I was frightened for my life, but I didn’t know I nearly died until after the surgery. I feel blessed, and I see my scar as a victory sign.”

We’re so relieved to hear that Sarah recovered from the scary ordeal. It just goes to show, we need to be SO vigilant regarding our health.
