The news that a well-known Swiss business tycoon is expecting twins at the age of 53 has made global headlines this week.

Margarita Louis-Dreyfuss, the much-respected chair of French comglomerate Louis Dreyfuss Commodities, went public with her news via a statement released by the company yesterday.

According to the announcement, Margarita, who became one of the world's richest women following her marriage to French businessman Robert Louis-Dreyfyss 24 years ago, is pregnant with twin girls who are due in April.

It has been established that the multi-billionaire businesswoman and owner of the Olympique de Marseille football team does not intend to take prolonged maternity leave from her high-powered role in the industry.

Commenting on her plans, the company asserted: "She intends to continue to exercise her duties as chairperson until the birth, take a brief break and return to work full time in late April."

Margarita, who shares three sons - two of whom are twins - with her late husband Robert, began a relationship with Swiss banker, Philipp Hildebrand, following Robert's death from leukaemia in 2009.

We're wishing Margarite and Philipp all the very best with their new arrivals.
