Going on holidays is meant to be a time of relaxation, fun and quality family bonding, right?!

But it's not going to be that relaxing if you make any of the following mistakes!

1. Packing WAY too many clothes

Only bring what you need; if you’re heading to the beach you’re not going to need your sky-high heels.  Avoid packing with a ‘in case of all eventualities’ frame of mind – that’s where you’re going wrong!

2. Trying to cram too many activities into one short trip

If you’re only going for a weekend, you’ll only fit in a few tourist things – so don’t cram.

3. Not going off the trail

Sticking to the tourist routes will mean you’ll miss A LOT of really good sights.

4. Running out of money

If you’re going on holidays, it is important you ensure you have enough money plus a little extra in case of an emergency.

5. Getting your travel itinerary wrong

The last thing you want is to arrive at the airport a day late...

6. Not giving yourself adequate time between connecting flights

Running with a gaggle of kids is not the best way to start your holiday.

7. Skipping on the insurance

Travel insurance is not typically that expensive but it will be a huge help if something does go wrong.

8. Taking too much cash

Nothing can be done if your cash is robbed or you lose it. Only take out what you need and use local ATM machines – they generally have a good exchange rate as well. Otherwise just use your credit card and pay it off when you get home.
