DisneyLife has been what I can only describe as a magical addition to my family.  After our initial registration on the DisneyLife website, we downloaded the app to four devices within minutes and we were all set!  Each of my two children, James (8 years) and Lucy (6 years) have their own Android tablets, I then downloaded it to my iPhone and my live-in au pair downloaded it too!

With every angle covered in terms of battery life and emergency kiddie entertainment on-the-go, the kids couldn't wait to explore the DisneyLife app. In fact, the timing of our review period couldn't have been better, given that just a couple of days later we were housebound with Storm Ophelia.

With a full battery charge on the devices and Google Chromecast installed on the cinematic television, we were primed to dive into all that the DisneyLife app has to offer.

The breadth of Disney family movies available to both stream and download on the app are incredible. Our weekend movie nights have been given a new lease of life as we explore the Disney classics I remember from my childhood, together with more recent releases my children want to watch over and over again.

But the DisneyLife App is not restricted to just movies, it has books, music, series, suggested fun family activities and so much more!  With two little people at very different stages of reading ability, we were thrilled to find that DisneyLife has a huge selection of books all at varying reading levels which are clearly signposted.

The music choice on offer through the App is also appealing to children of all ages and gender. From movie soundtracks to party selections, sing along tracks and music videos featuring pop singers whose songs feature in the movies, there really is something for everyone.

After Storm Ophelia, we didn't think that we could put the DisneyLife app to the test any further until we went on holiday for a few days during the mid-term school break. It was a lifesaver. There is nothing worse than trying to escape abroad for a few days of sunshine to recharge the batteries than when the sun element of your plans does not meet your expectations.

I had two very disappointed children with noses pressed up against the window of our holiday home in Spain staring out at the torrential rain hitting the blue water of the swimming pool. With no WiFi or satellite television services, there were only so many games of snap we could play before we all went a little bit crazy.

This is where the DisneyLife app came into its own. Thank goodness I had the foresight to download several movies to each of the children's devices so we could entertain ourselves while we waited for the rain to pass.

The important thing to remember is to make sure you are signed into the DisneyLife app on these devices before you leave Ireland. You must also switch each one to airplane mode and keep it on this for the duration of your holiday so the app cannot search for a network when abroad and kick you out of the download feature. As the movie or series downloads are specific to each device you can double your selection by choosing different downloads for each device.

You can even practice a foreign language using the DisneyLife App for those since so a huge amount of the content has the ability to have subtitles and voiceovers added with the tap of a finger. There's so many languages to choose with more being added all the time.

Back on Irish soil, with just two days left of the mid-term break left before school started up again, the kids discovered a whole section within the app dedicated to mid-term fun.

With learn-along dance routines, songs and tricks the kids were kept physically and mentally stimulated by the bespoke content tailored for the school holidays. Inspired by the cook-along series in the app my children were inspired to set the lunch and dinner menu at home and put their new knowledge into practice.

With new visual entertainment, learning and interactive content added daily for children of all ages, the DisneyLife app is the only recreational app your family need to create magical family moments.  We can't wait to see what extra special content is added for Christmas!
