When he was just three-and-a-half years old, Joshua Wilson was diagnosed with a brain stem tumour, and surgery to remove it left the youngster with post-operative complications.
Due to the location of the brain stem, he was left with complex physical needs, epilepsy, scoliosis, joint and chest problems and an acquired brain injury.
Josh sadly passed away in August 2014, after his mum, Dawn, had been told eight times over the previous year that he had just 48 hours to live. He was just 14-years-old when he died.
In 2013, with the help of his mum, Josh launched the Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity to help other families living with the same illness. Since his death the charity has continued to work tirelessly to help others in tribute to the teenager.
Josh was nicknamed SuperJosh for his sheer determination to enjoy life to the full and make the world smile.
In order to help retain his memory, Dawn has entered Josh in Thomson’s Name Our Plane competition, and is looking for support to get her son’s nickname on the side of their new 787 Dreamliner.
