Congratulations are in order this morning, with the announcement that the lovely Jeff Brazier is engaged to his long-term girlfriend, Kate Dwyer.

The presenter, 38, confirmed the news with an exclusive photo shoot and interview for Hello! magazine.

Jeff revealed that he proposed to Kate while the couple were holidaying in Ibiza, having been given the green light by his sons, 14-year-old Bobby and 13-year-old Freddy.

So, how did the big proposal go down? Well, Jeff and Kate were enjoying a boat trip when the father-of-two decided to pop the question.

He recalled: “I told her I loved her, and had been thinking about this for a while. I pulled the box with the ring out from my back-pocket, and asked if she would marry me. It was a very special moment.”

An ecstatic Kate was taken completely by surprise and, of course, she said yes!

“I’ve thought about this moment my whole life, and you don’t know how you’ll react. But I was overwhelmed,” she told the magazine.

Jeff confirmed that Bobby and Freddy – who wanted Jeff to be prepared, in case Kate said ‘no’ (!) – will serve as his best men on the big day, which is expected to take place next summer.

“It means a lot to me, for them to be such a huge part of the wedding,” he explained.

Jeff and his sons have experienced their fair share of heartache, following the death of the boys’ mum, Jade Goody. The Big Brother legend passed away in 2009, after battling cervical cancer.

Jeff has been very vocal about helping his sons through their grief, releasing his first book, The Grief Survival Guide: How to Navigate Loss and All That Comes With It, earlier this year.

The star previously admitted that ‘marriage was going to happen’ with Kate, and also hinted that babies could be on the cards in the future.

In an interview with the Mirror, he said: “I think we’re working our way to it [marriage]. What’s going to be exciting to me, is seeing the kids as older brothers – they’ll be incredible.”

We are so thrilled for Jeff and Kate, and we’re wishing them every happiness.
