Airport and airplane drama involving young children is sadly nothing new, and the latest person to share their story and frustrations is Irish actor Chris O’Dowd.

The Bridesmaids star took to his social media channels today to let rip at security at Gatwick Airport over the treatment of his three-month-old son, Art.

In a tweet, the 35-year-old wrote: “Thanks Gatwick security! Some might think body-searching a baby and binning his bottle was over zealous and weird, but not me!”

True to his special brand of humour, Chris added in the hashtag ‘scary baby’ at the end.

Needless to say, the former star of The IT Crowd received plenty of support from his followers, with many sending on messages of disbelief over the incident.

“That’s bloody ridiculous. Have a word. How can they do that to a baby’s bottle? Far too wrong,” wrote one Twitter user.

Another user shared their own similar experience, writing: “Our little man got searched and patted down the last time we flew home. He did not set the alarm off. So ridiculous and upsetting for him.”

Chris and his presenter wife Dawn O’Porter welcomed Art, their first child, back in January.
