Having separated from his wife in February 2014, the status of this much-loved actor's relationship has been officially declared by the Central Family Court in London this morning.

Rowan Atkinson, who is best known for his roles in Mr. Bean and Blackadder, married Sunetra Sastry in February 1990, having met while the latter was working as a make-up artist for the BBC. 

However, the pair called time on their relationship last year, with Rowan initiating a relationship with current girlfriend, Louise Ford. shortly after.
 


This morning, Sunetra was granted a decree nisi by a district judge which stipulates the date on which the marriage ends unless a valid reason for delaying the divorce is produced.

According to inside sources speaking to The Sun, Rowan's wife expressed much regret at her ex-husband's new relationship, saying: "Sunetra was deeply upset to be replaced by such a younger woman."

According to ITV, the 60-year-old actor was not present at the hearing while the court heard that the couple have chosen to divorce due to Rowan's "unreasonable behaviour."

 Rowan and Sunetra are parents to Lily Atkinson and Benjamin Atkinson.
