With the pair currently embroiled in a bitter legal fight over their two children, actress Kelly Rutherford has lifted the lid on some of the painful details of her split from Daniel Giersch.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, the former Gossip Girl star said: “Daniel was very subtly verbally abusive. He was trying to alienate me from everyone in my life – my parents, my brother.”
“I didn’t want any money from Daniel. I wanted us both to be great parents. I wasn’t asking for full custody. Daniel made me go through a custody evaluation while I was pregnant. He sued me like he’d sued Google. He served me custody papers right up until I went into labour,” added the 46-year-old.
Kelly has spoken very candidly about her battle to get eight-year-old Hermes and six-year-old Helena returned to the US. While Kelly and Daniel share custody of the children, they have been court ordered to remain in France with their father while he works on getting a valid US visa.
