When you go up against one member of world-famous reality television family, the Kardashians, you go up against all of them as one much-loved actress recently learned.

Bridesmaids star, Rebel Wilson, has spoken of her concern at the way in which she has been treated following comments she made regarding the controversial Calabasas clan.

Upon being asked to present an MTV VMA award alongside the family's youngest members, Kendall and Kylie, the Pitch Perfect actress reportedly refused on the grounds that she didn't agree with their rise to fame.

Justifying her decision to decline the invite, the 35-year-old Australian-native said: "[What they] stand for is totally against what I stand for."

Elaborating on her point, Rebel continued: "I’m all about personality and working hard to get to where I am. How Kim Kardashian got famous from the sex tape and I just went to acting school and worked really hard."

According to Us magazine, upon realising her comments caused ripples among both the family and its defenders, the comedy star sent flowers to the family in a bid to draw a line under the furore.

It looks, however, like her efforts may have been in vain with the Kardashians reportedly unwilling to accept the star's olive branch - something which Rebel feels may be motivated by the family's publicity machine.

Taking to Twitter to defend her position yesterday, she wrote: "I'd be very happy to debate the Kardashians anywhere / anytime / any topic. Or maybe their publicist can just stop the smear campaign against me because I made one prompted comment about them on Australian radio."

Making yet another attempt to put the incident behind them, she finished: "In any event, I'm MORE than over this little thing and wish the K clan well. Even sent them flowers."

We wonder how this one will play out.
