There is no denying that it has been a very difficult few years for her, but one of the most frightening moments of actress Kym Marsh’s life happened just a matter of weeks ago.

The Coronation Street star, who recently marked the sixth anniversary of her baby son Archie’s death, has opened up on the moment that she thought she may lose her eldest child.

In an interview with The Telegraph, the 38-year-old recounted how 19-year-old son David was rushed to hospital amid fears that he was having a heart attack.

“I thought he was going to die, it was terrifying. He was terribly scared. A part of you can’t believe this is happening to your boy, a fit young man,” she said.

She added: “As his mum, any crying or getting upset had to be done away from his room where he couldn’t see it. All I could do was try to be positive and strong for him.”

Thankfully, David recovered, but doctors went on to diagnose him with myopericarditis, which is an inflammation of the heart.

Kym is now supporting the work of the British Heart Foundation by fronting the charity’s Dechox campaign, which encourages people to give up chocolate for the month of March to raise money for research.

We can’t imagine how frightening this must have been, and we hope that David is now doing well.
