The Coronation Street star, who is already mum to five-year-old Freya, is expecting her first child with fiancé Sylvain Longchambon, and admitted that she wanted to find out the sex of her baby so that she could “plan better”.
“I understand why some people choose not to find out and want the surprise, but we just felt we could plan better. I also feel that by knowing the sex, I can bond a bit better with the baby – I don't have to say 'it' anymore when I'm referring to him!” she explained in her OK! blog.
The 32-year-old, who is due this autumn, has revealed that Freya was not best pleased when she broke the news to her.
Explaining that her little girl said, “but I wanted it to be a girl!”, Samia admitted that she came round when she explained that her brother wouldn’t want her share her Barbies.
However, the actress, who plays Maria in the popular soap, added: “She's been excitedly telling her friends and teacher since so I'm guessing she's happy with it!”
We can't wait to hear what the couple name their little boy!
