She has found herself at the centre of plenty of child and baby discussions in recent times, and this week Sofia Vergara spoke very candidly about her future with fiancé Joe Manganiello.

The Modern Family star, who is mum to 23-year-old son Manolo from her first marriage, gave an insight into the dilemma she is facing as she and Joe make family plans.

In an interview with Redbook, the 42-year-old said: “Joe is younger than me. He’s 38. He’s never had kids. How am I going to say no?”

“If I tell him we’re going to do this, we have to do it, like, now, because I don’t want to be 50 with a baby,” Sofia added.

Recent reports have claimed that the couple are looking into surrogacy to start a family together, and they are believed to have decided on a surrogate earlier this year.

Opening up on her happiness with Joe, Sofia also told the magazine that she knew early on that he was ‘the one’.

She gushed: “I finally realised that relationships don’t need to be so much work. Ever since we met, it’s been so easy. I’m very suspicious. I’m like, ‘It’s not normal that we’ve been together for nine months and we haven’t had a big fight or anything.’”

Sofia and Joe got engaged last December, having dated for five months.
