She is a doting mother to four-year-old Angelo, but for now, singer Adele is content to be a mum-of-one.

The singer has revealed that she is ‘too scared’ to expand her brood with long-term partner Simon Konecki, after her experience with postnatal depression.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the 28-year-old said: “I’m too scared. I had really bad postpartum depression after I had my son, and it frightened me.”

“But I was obsessed with my child. I felt very inadequate; I felt like I’d made the worst decision of my life,” she added.

The Hello star explained that she didn’t take medication for the condition, but turned the focus back on herself when she was really struggling.

She revealed: “Eventually I just said, I’m going to give myself an afternoon a week just to do whatever the f*** I want without my baby. A friend of mine said, ‘Really? Don’t you feel bad?’ I said, ‘I do, but not as bad as I’d feel if I didn’t do it.’”

You truly never know when someone is fighting a secret battle. We’re sure many mothers out there can relate to Adele’s experience.
