They’ve pulled it out of the bag on more than one occasion, but we have to give major props to An Post for their latest achievement.
Nicole Lally took to the official An Post Facebook page to reveal her ‘amusement/mortification’, after receiving a Christmas card bearing possibly the most hilarious and obscure ‘address’ EVER!
Here is the actual address written on the card’s envelope:
‘Ya know yer wan. Her mother’s Hogan from Castleblakeney, but the daughter’s an ex-townie. Grew up in Athlone and moved to Ballymacward when she got married. Lives next-door to her in-laws now. She has a rake a’ children and seven dogs and four cats and about 30 hens and ducks and some rabbits and fish, and I think she has a hamster as well. She has a shrine to the Virgin Mary in the left corner of her garden. Can you give her this please? Thanks.’
Despite the fact that it was all a joke by Nicole’s friend Amanda McCallan, ‘to make a holy show’ of her, the postman made sure the card reached the intended recipient!
“Thanks to my local postman Celcius, who knew immediately who to deliver the card to when the supervisor read out the ‘address’. Absolutely made my day. An Post have been great sports to find me, cheers!” wrote Nicole.
Needless to say, the image has gone viral and left ‘wans’ all over the country in absolute hysterics.
