She is one of Ireland’s most successful and beloved authors, and no doubt fans of Cecelia Ahern will be delighted by her latest news.

The mother-of-two is celebrating this week, following confirmation that Warner Bros. has optioned the movie rights for two novels, Flawed and Perfect, from her upcoming debut young adult series.

This is a double dose of good news for the 34-year-old, as her latest novel, The Marble Collector, is hitting the shelves in Ireland this week.

Flawed and Perfect are set to be published in March 2016 and 2017, respectively. Meanwhile, Wendy Finerman – of Forest Gump and PS I Love You fame – has been confirmed to produce both movie adaptations.

Reacting to the wonderful news this week, Cecelia said: “Writing Flawed and Perfect has been an exciting journey and a new departure for me as a writer. I am really looking forward to engaging with a young adult reading audience and I’m very excited about the prospect of the series making it to the big screen."

While fans will have to wait for the movie series, in the meantime they can satisfy their thirst for a good story with Cecelia’s twelfth novel, The Marble Collector.

The Marble Collector tells the story of Sabrina, who discovers a collection of marbles in her father’s possession. After realising that the two most expensive pieces are missing from the collection, Sabrina embarks on a hunt to find them – only to realise that her father is not the person she thought he was.

We know what we’ll be reading this weekend! Congratulations to Cecelia on her amazing achievement.
