Nicola's happy news comes just weeks after her co-star Emma Atkins, who plays Charity Tate, was congratulated by fellow actress on her own impending arrival.
Nicola, who plays Nicola King on the long-running soap, has filmed her final scenes and like co-star Emma has gone on maternity leave from the TV show.
The actress, who has played Nicola since 2001, opened up in the past regarding fertility issues caused by a tumour which developed on her pituitary gland, saying: "The tumour has shrunk now and it doesn't cause me any problems. But best of all is the fact my periods are normal, so if I wanted a baby I could have one."
Fans have recently speculated about the possibility that Nicola was expecting a child, but they need wonder no more!
