When you’re a child, it often seems that the best thing about being an adult is owning a credit card and being able to buy (within budget) anything you like. And in this way, being a six-year-old lacking in funds for a fancy new toy can really suck.

This was the case for a child in the US, who asked for an ‘advance’ on his $20 allowance in order to buy a toy he so dearly wanted.

Imgur user sonan303 took to the social networking site to share her story, revealing that her little one received a rather hilarious and priceless note back from his father; the owner of DAD Savings and Loan!

Indeed, the six-year-old received a letter rejecting his application for a loan – and it’s about as entertaining as it gets.

The full letter – printed on ‘official’ DAD Savings and Loan paper – read:

We regret to inform you at this time that we are unable to provide a loan in the amount requested of $20.00. After reviewing your account, we have [found] you have insufficient funds, and a history of not doing your chores.

“Furthermore, over $80.00 has been spent on discretionary entertainment expenses since Christmas. This is an unsustainable amount of expenditure, and we cannot further compound the problem by financially assisting with occurring further debt at this point.

“If you would like to refute this decision, you can contact our complaint department at [mother’s phone number]. Our dispute manager at this number may be able to persuade us to reverse our decision. Thank you for choosing DAD Savings and Loan, we appreciate the chance to serve your financial needs.

We have a suspicion the ‘dispute manager’ may have been able to twist the bank manager’s arm somehow!
