She welcomed her third child into the world last month, but Liv Tyler has no intention of bowing to pressure to snap back into pre-baby shape.
In an interview with People, Liv – who recently welcomed daughter Lula Rose – urged other new mums to take a leaf out of her book and ‘be kind’ to themselves.
“Everyone is different. Everyone’s body is different. Everyone’s birth experience is different,” she said.
The 39-year-old added: “I think it’s best to focus on your health and the health of your baby, and bonding.”
Liv – who is also mum to 11-year-old Milo and 18-month-old Sailor Gene – added that pyjamas are her go-to outfit in the early days and weeks after birth.
“[I wear] loose things, where you can’t see my belly too much, because it’s that transitional period where I don’t think people can tell if you’re pregnant or you’re just chubby,” she said.
Liv is also step-mother to fiancé David Gardner’s son, nine-year-old Gray.
We love Liv’s attitude to that post-baby period – we should all be focusing on the important things, not unrealistic body image ‘ideals’.
