He may have grey hair but he’s definitely not your average grandad.
It’s hard to believe suave James Bond star Pierce Brosnan is actually a grandad, but it seems he loves the role.
The Navan man shared an adorable snap of granddaughter Marley May to Instagram this week, with the caption, "Breakfast with my darling granddaughter Marley May...be still my heart."
Aw! It looked like more a “pretend” breakfast, as little Marley had plastic slices of cake and a toy teapot in front of her.
No one knows the importance of grandparents more than Pierce himself. He was brought up by his grandparents after his father abandoned the family, and his mother had to go to England to train as a nurse.
No doubt he is keen to have that special bond with his precious youngest granddaughter, also.
Marley May Cassandra is Pierce’s third grandchild, and her name has special meaning for Pierce.
Her last name comes from Cassandra Harris, Pierce’s first wife, who tragically died from ovarian cancer. Sadly Pierce also lost his adoptive daughter Charlotte, Cassandra’s daughter, to the same disease. After enduring this tragedy, Pierce cherishes his family more than ever.
Pierce is also grandfather to Charlotte's two children; Isabella, 19, and Lucas, 13.
Marley’s middle name, May, comes from Pierce’s beloved mother May. Marley, who was born in June 2015, is the daughter of Pierce’s son Sean, and his wife film producer Sanja Banic.
When she was born, a delighted Pierce shared a beautiful photo of Marley and Sean to Instagram, saying, “My darling Sean with his baby girl Marley May Cassandra what utter joy to be her grandpa...beautiful life.”
Pierce is a father of five children, including Charlotte and her brother Christopher who he adopted after their father died and Sean. He also has two younger sons from his marriage to Keely Shaye, Dylan, 20 and Paris, 16.
And it seems like life as a grandad is agreeing with him.
Pierce told The Herald that he doesn't mind aging too much: " I'm a proud grandfather now. There's still a lot of life in the old man and I'll keep going till I can go no more. Life is so precious.
"It can be snatched away without any prior warning so why waste it?
"That's why I enjoy my wonderful beautiful family, my children and my grandchildren."
