After the excitement of Christmas Day, December 26th can seem a little dull in comparison. All the presents have been opened, the less, the kids are starting to get a little restless, and the family are in dire need of a little more entertainment.

Before you resort to pulling your hair out though, we have compiled a list of 20 fun, cool and CHEAP things that you can do with your children - big or small.

1. Have a doll’s party

They are bound to have been gifted at least one doll over the Christmas period.

2. Camp out in your living room

You can even pull your mattress into the room so that you'll all be able to enjoy a comfy night's sleep.

Cut up some old socks, sew on a few buttons and put on a show for the rest of the family.

Mix it up by letting your kids use their fingers, paint brushes or even sponges.

Gathering in front of the box is A LOT cheaper than going to the cinema, and the whole family can cuddle on the couch with a giant bowl of popcorn.

All you need are a few old T-shirts, permanent markers or fabric paint and your imagination.

Head to the station and watch the trains come and go - you'll have to wrap up because it will be cold!

10. Or why not go watch the airplanes take off and land

If trains aren't your thing, why not head along to the airport and watch people and planes come and go?

Pop the kids in the car, let them play travel games to keep them happy while you drive there, and enjoy the fun and excitement of a new forest or playground.

It doesn't have to be sunny for you to enjoy a stroll along the beach - there is plenty of space for kids to play around.
