We have yet more sad news to share this week, as it has been announced that beloved entertainer Keith Harris has passed away.

The ventriloquist won worldwide fame with his sweet characters Orville the Duck and Cuddles the Monkey.

The star’s agent issued a statement this morning, confirming that Harris had passed away at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, where he had been battling cancer. He was 67 years old.

Heartbroken Robert C Kelly said: “Sad to announce the death from Cancer of my client, dear friend and great talent, Keith Harris.”

Harris was a popular figure in the world of entertainment during the 1908's, landing a primetime weekend TV slot on BCC One with The Keith Harris Show. He also scored a number four hit in the UK with Orville’s Song.

In more recent times, Harris was seen on the 2012 series of Big Brother.

Harris was married four times, and is survived by his fourth wife Sarah, their two teenage children, and his 27-year-old daughter Skye from his first marriage.

This is such sad news. Our thoughts are with Keith’s family at this difficult time.
