We've been gearing up to return to the seemingly sleepy yet secretive town of Monterey.

From sly on-set pictures to the news that Meryl Streep is joining the cast, we have been eating up every bit of information we can get about season two of Big Little Lies.

Now we've heard that three more actors are joining the cast! While they're not big names, they definitely will bring something fresh to the series.

First off we have Crystal R. Fox, who will be playing Bonnie's mum Elizabeth Howard, Deadline reports.

The 52-year-old actress is best known for her roles as Luann Corbin in the police drama In the Heat of the Night and Hanna Young in the soap opera The Haves and the Have Nots.

So clearly she knows how to bring the drama!

According to Vulture, Elizabeth seems to be just as Zen as her hippie daughter (played by Zoe Kravitz), but in reality is a manipulative and abusive figure.

Next up we have Mo McRae, who will play the new second-grade teacher Michael Perkins.

His desire to make his pupils socially conscious will eventually backfire, as his teaching about climate change causes Renata's (Laura Dern) daughter Amabella to have a panic attack. And he certainly will feel Renata's wrath!

You may recognise Mo from his part as Jimmy Carter in Wild or his stint as J Poppa on the series Empire.

As well, last week Deadline reported that Douglas Smith would join the cast as a surfer and aspiring marine biologist working with Jane (Shailene Woodley).

Douglas made a name for himself as Ben Henrickson on Big Love, and he is currently also in the series The Alienist.

We can't wait to see what they add to our favourite series!

What do you think of the new cast members?
