There is no doubt our children are more tech-savvy than we ever were, but if recent research is anything to go by, they may be more capable of solving traditional brainteasers as well!

After being shown a popular brainteaser created by National Geographic, adults were left scratching their heads, however upon approaching pre-school children all over the United States with the same puzzle, researchers quickly identified a disparity between their findings.

According to the results of their endeavour, 80% of pre-school children gave the correct answer when asked which direction the bus in the image is travelling.

According to The Independent, the vast majority of children correctly determined that the bus is travelling to the left, explaining their answer: "Because you can’t see the door to get on the bus."

Researchers established that children who had recently travelled on a bus were better capable of solving the puzzle than their older counterparts which is a nod towards the significance children place on former experience when interpreting a situation.

Did you solve it? And more importantly, do you think your children would be able?
