According to claims by the Islamic State, an Irish jihadist has died in a suicide bomb attack in Mosul.

Abu Usama Al-Irlandi or Khalid Kelly, as he's better known, was reportedly killed in the name of the Islamic State during a fight in Iraq's second largest city.

ISIS Twitter accounts shared a picture of Khalid in front of an explosive machine, and he is also holding a gun while posing.

Khalid was born in Dublin and raised as Terence Edward Kelly.

He converted to Islam after he was jailed for making bootleg alcohol in Saudi Arabia in 2000.
