From this provider / About this provider: Nicola O'Byrne is a Lactation Consultant (I.B.C.L.C), neonatal/paediatric nurse and mother of four. She provides practical help and advice with breastfeeding concerns in your own home, immediately after birth or at any stage. It can be a very anxious time for new parents getting breastfeeding established, sometimes all that's needed is a few small changes and lots of encouragement! When breastfeeding is established it can be a very satisfying experience for mother and baby. It gives your baby a great start in life and has added health benefits for you too. She has been working with mothers and babies for over 19 years. As a nurse I worked in the neonatal unit of one of Dublin's leading maternity hospitals. During this time, I helped lots of mothers to establish effective breastfeeding with both fullterm and preterm babies. After the birth of her first child, she trained as a breastfeeding counsellor with Cuidiú -Irish Childbirth Trust and has hosted breastfeeding support mornings and provided individual counselling to breastfeeding mothers.
