Call The Midwife made it’s long-awaited return to our TV screens last night, and we couldn’t be happier to be reunited with the ladies of Nonnatus House.
We weren’t the only ones happy to see Sister Monica Joan, Trixie, and Dr Turner back, as over seven million people tuned in to the popular BBC drama series last night.

The opening episode of season seven followed the story of Nadine, a former stripper, who struggled with facing pregnancy on her own.
We were also introduced to Jewish couple Mr and Mrs Gellen, who escaped the Nazis, and moved to the United Kingdom.
However, the highlight of last night’s episode was the introduction of one very special character- the first West Indian midwife.
Not long to go now before you all meet Nurse Lucille Anderson, this role felt so important to me as it represents a wave of tremendous young women & men who like my aunt left their homes and families to start a new life as midwives & nurses in England. Thank you & we salute you! pic.twitter.com/6RsMCuuAH5

Fans were thrilled with the introduction of Lucille Anderson, who is set to raise awareness about the way Caribbean nurses were treated in the UK during the 1960s.
I think Nurse Lucille and I are going to be friends! Great start, loved the character... the hot water bottle, the fudge... ah, she's a good 'un!

Feeling warm & fuzzy and oh so pleased to have #callthemidwife back. Missing Pats & Deels but lovin' Lucille. My Sundays are complete again!

We think Lucille is the perfect addition to the cast, especially with Tom and Barba missing from last night’s episode.
Did you enjoy the season seven premiere of Call The Midwife, mums?
We already can’t wait for next Sunday’s episode. We’ve got our tissues (and wine) at the ready!
