They are one of the sweetest and most beautiful couples in Hollywood, but Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are also setting a top example when it comes to parenting.

The stars took a CPR course this week, and took to Instagram to encourage others to follow suit – and potentially save a little one’s life.

“All mamas and dadas out there – I can’t recommend this enough,” wrote Blake, who is mum to two-year-old James, and eight-month-old Ines.

“I took a CPR class with a focus on babies and toddlers. Google ‘infant CPR class near me’, and you’ll see lots of listings. For those of you who haven’t done it, you will love it. It’s so helpful by giving you knowledge, tools and some peace of mind.”

Husband Ryan also recommended the course, revealing how the skills have already helped him to save a young life – that of his nephew.

Posting a photo of himself and his instructor to Instagram, the 40-year-old explained how taking a CPR course through the Red Cross had proven lucky.

“I ended up saving my nephew’s life because I knew what to do! True story!” he wrote.

“Yesterday, I took a refresher course – focusing on infant and toddler CPR. It takes only a few hours, and it’s also kinda, sorta fun.”

Ever the joker, Ryan had a special word of thanks for the training dolls ‘whose vacant ocular cavities will haunt him until end times’. Well, it wouldn’t be a Ryan Reynolds post without a joke!

It’s clear that Ryan and Blake live for their daughters – something which the Deadpool actor has proven time and time again during his interviews.

Opening up about how life has changed with two children, Ryan said: “There’s just more. There’s more love, there’s more diapers. It’s really kind of profound.

“It’s really hard to have boundaries, because you’ll just do anything they say – like, anything they say!”

For all of their joking, we love that Ryan and Blake are doing their part to help other parents to keep their children safe.
