With three adorable kids under the age of nine, there's no doubt that this well-known mum has a lot to look forward to as Christmas Day fast approaches, but it looks like there may be an extra reason for celebration this festive season!

Taking to her Instagram page in order to share some wonderful news with her legions of fans and followers, Grey's Anatomy star, Jessica Capshaw, revealed that she's about to become a mum for the fourth time!

Delighting  thousands of Instagram users in recent days, the actress, who is best known for playing Dr. Arizona Robbins in the hit medical drama, uploaded an adorable family shot which she accompanied with a heartwarming message.

The actress, who wed husband Christopher Gavigan in 2004, could barely contain her excitement as she posted online, writing: "The holidays have certainly arrived...All of our lives are being added to by the lights, music and the cheer!"

Revealing that 2016 would hear the pitter-patter of tiny feet, Jessica continued: "This year our family has reason to further broaden our smile...baby number four is on the way!! I am a lucky, lucky girl..."

The 39-year-old actress, who is mum to eight-year-old Luke, five-year-old Eve and three-year-old Poppy, has been inundated with messages of congratulations since her adorable upload in recent days.

Sending warm wishes, one Instagram user wrote: "Congratulations!! Have safe pregnancy and I hope you enjoy every minute of it "
