We love to encourage our children’s creativity, particularly during play and dress-up time, but actress Charlize Theron has come under fire today for her young son’s choice of costume.
The Snow White and the Huntsman star stepped out to run errands with son Jackson earlier this week, with the four-year-old sporting a Prince Elsa wig hat and a dress.
Paparazzi snapped photos of the pair grabbing some ice cream, and there was quite a strong reaction once the images were shared online.
Indeed, many people have criticised the South African star over letting her son dress in a ‘girl’s costume’, with some even accusing her of ‘degrading’ him.
“Treating your son like some object to make a political sign with – narcissism at its finest,” wrote one disgruntled Twitter user.
Shame on Charlize Theron for allowing her black adopted SON to dress up in a blonde wig & a dress. Very unacceptable pic.twitter.com/TTXctDo8jo

Meanwhile, another tweeted: “I feel so bad for Charlize Theron’s son. Adoption from foreign countries should be illegal!”
Thankfully, the trolling was balanced out by plenty of messages of support, with many hailing Charlize as an ‘outstanding parent’.
The tweets regarding Charlize Theron's son dressing up as Elsa from frozen are disgusting, small minded and verging on homo/transphobic.

Can everyone stop moaning about Charlize Theron's son dressing up as Elsa? Clothes are not gender specific and he's clearly a happy kid.

“So thankful I’m not boring and just plagued by gender norms humans created. Charlize, you’re a good parent,” tweeted another.
