CarePlus Pharmacy are wrapping up season one of Care+Conversations, their brand new, chart-topping podcast for new parents. The podcast has had great success since its launch, maintaining the number 1 spot in the Apple charts for two weeks running and receiving stellar reviews across multiple podcast platforms, parents commenting that it's “positive, helpful, informative and different to the norm”.
Throughout the 6-part series, experts in the world of pregnancy, postpartum and baby health sat down with host, mum and CarePlus Brand Director, Lee-Ann Hyland, for some candid conversations to help and reassure new parents as they navigate the daunting firsts of newborn life.
Across the 6 episodes (episode 5 is live now, episode 6 is live November 23rd) released each Wednesday, the podcast has tackled topics including preparing for birth; the 4th trimester; breastfeeding; sleep; mother’s emotional and mental health; and all things baby health.
The series kicked off with host Lee-Ann speaking to community midwife, Aine Hennessy discussing the importance of preparing both mentally and physically for birth, followed by episode two with Layla O’Mara, doula and founder of Nua Nua, chatting with Lee-Ann about a time known as the fourth trimester – the period directly after the baby is born - a time of significant physical, mental and emotional development for baby and mum.
At the halfway mark of series one, lactation consultant Katie Mugan offered her expert advice on all things breastfeeding – challenges and pressures included – while episode 4 brought with it some invaluable advice on baby sleep (and how you can get sleep) from certified child sleep consultant, Erica Hargaden of Babogue.
Today’s episode is a chat with Anne Morgan, psychotherapist and founder of Sparkback, during which Anne and Lee-Ann talk embracing motherhood without compromising yourself, emotional and mental changes post-partum, and finding your support network.
The sixth and final episode of season one goes live next Wednesday, November 23rd, with GP Dr Laura Lenihan as the guest, easing your worries and arming you with the necessary information on all things newborn baby health.
