Actor Chris Pratt has often teared up when speaking about his son’s start to life, and it’s clear that the experience of being a parent to a premature baby has had a profound impact on him.

Little Jack was born nine weeks premature back in 2012, and Chris and wife Anna Faris were left fearing for the worst as he struggled to defy the odds.

Thankfully, the tot thrived to become the adorable little boy who cracks us up on Instagram, and Chris has shared a touching tribute in honour of him and World Prematurity Day.

Posting a video of Jack appearing fascinated by a creepy-crawly, Chris wrote: “As many of you may know, our son Jack was just over three pounds when he was born. Thanks to scientific advances made possible by March of Dimes funding, today he’s a perfectly healthy, curious four-year-old.”

He went on to issue a call to action, to raise money for March of Dimes; a charity that researches and solves problems threatening babies.

“The March of Dimes strives for a world where every baby has a fair chance, yet this is not the reality for many mothers and babies. Join me in supporting their efforts to give every baby a fighting chance,” he added.

Fair play, Chris.
