Corries Kym Marsh will play important role when daughter Emilie gives birth

Kym Marsh doesn't have long to wait until she becomes a grandmother for the first time.

Her daughter Emilie is set to give birth soon and they are both extremely excited to welcome the little one.

It will be the first grandchild for the Corrie star, who has revealed that she will play an essential role in the delivery room.

The 42-yea-old told OK! magazine, ''I’m one of the birthing partners – she’ll have me and Mikey.''

She continued, ''It was just a given. My mum was at all of mine and my sister’s births.''

Emilie added, ''I never asked Mum to be my birthing partner. It’s just standard that she’ll be there – she comes everywhere with me!''

Kym will be a fairly young grandma and isn't too keen on the idea of being called that.

She told This Morning, ''I’m really excited about being a grandparent but there’s no way I’m being a grandma, or granny, nanny or any of those things.''

She continued, ''We looked on a website and found alternative names and I’m going to be Lolly.''

Although the baby wasn't planned, Emilie and her boyfriend of two years Mikey Hoszowskyj are so excited for it's arrival.

It's one lucky baby that will have a brilliant mum and a hands-on granny - and we wish Emilie all the luck with the birth.
