We all know that a healthy sex life is one of the most important things to keep your relationship happy.

However, if you have been experiencing a lull in your normally active bedtime antics, you might have porn to blame. Whether it’s you or your other half watching it, here are five ways it can affect your sex life:

You can struggle to become aroused

Porn shows you that sex with new people is fun and exciting, but when you are in a relationship you can experience a decline in arousal because you are yearning for something more exhilarating.

Gives you unrealistic standards of sex

If you have an unrealistic view of sex based on what you have seen, then you will always want or expect more.

It can dull your ability to be pleased

Not being able to differentiate between porn and reality can dull your ability to be pleased which you can put down to your extremely high expectations of sex.

Can cause premature ejaculation

Watching too much porn can result in premature ejaculation which is never good when you haven’t even gotten started.

It’s not the same as long-term relationship sex

Porn is there to excite and turn you on sometimes using over the top scenarios - it doesn’t do cuddles or intimacy, things which are important within a marriage or a long-term relationship
