Us Irish mums are really something. We’d sell our right arm to grant our children’s Christmas wishes, but when the roles are reversed, we’re not easily pleased, are we?

One woman who has proven this in hilarious fashion this weekend is Brona Titley. Having asked her mum for ideas on what to get her for Christmas last year, Brona was sent the most hilarious reply ever.

As thoughts naturally turn to Christmas Day, and Brona scratches her head once again over what to get her mum, she decided to give us a wonderful reminder of that unique ‘Irish mammy’ character that so delights us.

As you can see from Brona’s screenshot, rather than sending on a list of gift ideas, her mother texted over a tirade of what NOT to get her. And, all considered, it seems like Brona’s mum just really hates presents!

“No wallets, bags, purses, rocks, scarves, perfume, face cream or any cosmetic. Nothing, absolutely nothing I can eat or drink. Nothing to wear either. No shampoo or hair products. No books, CDs or DVDs. No vouchers for travel or hotels,” the text read.

Given how that is only a section of the full text, we’re really curious to know what Brona actually ended up buying for her mum – and even more so, did she like it?

Has anyone else’s mum sent out a manifesto like this ahead of the festive season?
