So, we were all utterly thrilled about the recent Dawson's Creek reunion celebrating their 20th anniversary (and boy are we feeling old now).

While the show's creator Kevin Williamson and the cast said that a sequel is not in the cards, Kevin did disclose where he thinks the characters are now.

Since this is our only chance at knowing what Dawson and the gang are up to, we're making some popcorn and getting comfortable.

"I am a man of conflict, so I would want to, of course, show some conflict," the 53-year-old told PeopleTV and Entertainment Weekly.

Yessss Kevin, bring the drama!

The screenwriter, who is also the creator of the Vampire Diaries, said, "I think Dawson became Spielberg, all his dreams came true.

"I think they're shattered, I think he fell apart. I think he never really found love."

In a sequel, the show's iconic star would be 'just on the cusp of changing his whole life and finding the one thing that's going to make it magical'.

On this new journey of self-discovery, Dawson would find himself, love, and 'everything he ever dreamed of'.

As for Pacey and Joey, their story is just as bittersweet.

Kevin says that the couple got married, had a family, but experienced relationship troubles and got divorced.

"And I think that when we meet them, they're in a very, very dark place, but there's still something between them that forces them to come together and raise their children," the screenwriter revealed.

In a Dawson's Creek sequel we would get to 'watch them fall in love all over again'.

Someone pass the tissues! This hypothetical follow-up has us in a state.
