Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are widely acknowledged as one of Hollywood’s sweetest couples, but it hasn’t always been all sunshine and rainbows for the pair.
Dax is marking 12 years sober this week, and he took to his social media channels to pay tribute to the wonderful life he has created since beating his addiction demons.
The 41-year-old, who is father to three-year-old Lincoln and 20-month-old Delta, tweeted: “12 years ago today I came out of my last toxic, life-threatening stupor. I now have a wife and babies and some self-esteem.”

The Without A Paddle actor’s substance abuse problems began when he was just 18, years before he began his movie career and met Veronica Mars actress Kristen.
The couple, who got together after meeting at a birthday party in 2007, have been married for three years.
Kristen recently paid tribute to Dax in an interview, saying: “He’s a wonderful father. He knows the value of things. He was an addict for many, many years and he pulled himself out of it, and he’s been sober for 12 years now.”
“He knows how many times he’s messed up and how many times he’s been really close to losing everything,” she added.
Well done to Dax on this milestone achievement.
