What a wonderful day for baby news!

Following on from the announcement that Wayne and Coleen Rooney have welcomed their third son, a much-loved television star has revealed that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Simon Bough.

Dani Harmer, who rose to fame for her portrayal of Tracy Beaker in CBBC's The Story of Tracy Beaker, Tracy Beaker Returns and Tracy Beaker Survival Files, has revealed that she is due to become a mum this summer!

Speaking exclusively to Hello! magazine, the actress, who began dating her partner last year, could barely contain her delight as she discussed the changes her body is currently experiencing and the impact it has had on family life.

"I still wake up every morning and go, ‘I’m pregnant.'" she reveals. "It was amazing seeing the scan. I find the whole thing absolutely fascinating. What an amazing, clever thing to be going on inside my body."

Dani, who took fourth place in the tenth series of Strictly Come Dancing, admits that she has some reservations about the whole process, but acknowledges the importance of relaxing during her nine-month journey, saying: "I absolutely can’t wait. I’m also really nervous. But I guess I just have to take each day as it comes. I’ve always wanted to be a mum."

The 26-year-old actress, who is also known for her role in BBC's After You've Gone, hopes to take inspiration from her own mum when it comes to motherhood, explaining: "I want to be a fun mum. My mum was really fun and she was a friend as well as a mum. That’s what I’d like to have with my child."

Reflecting on the bond which exists between herself and her own mother, Dani admits: "I know I can tell my mum absolutely anything. I think if you can find the balance between respect and friendship, combining all those things into one, that would be perfect."

We couldn't be happier for her!
