Massive congratulations are in order this morning following the news that international football player, Seamus Coleman, is set to become a dad for the first time!

According to messages of support which have been flooding his wife Rachel's Facebook page in recent days, the couple will be welcoming their first child next year.

27-year-old Seamus, who plays defence for both Everton and the Republic of Ireland, tied the knot with Rachel Cunningham in a private ceremony last summer and are currently celebrating the news that their loving duo is set to become a trio.

In keeping with their low-key wedding celebrations, the couple have chosen not to make a big announcement regarding their wonderful news, but are said to be elated at the prospect of adding to their family.
 


According to the Irish Sun, a source close to the couple has opened up about Seamus and Rachel's reaction, saying "They are just over the moon with excitement. They are very level-headed and not into the whole celebrity lifestyle."

Revealing that the news has delighted has delighted loved ones, the insider continued: "They are very private but everyone knows that they are expecting their first baby and everyone is just so delighted for them.

Celebrating alongside the couple, fans of the pair have extended warm wishes, with one Facebook comment reading: "Congratulations hun! Great news!"
