Hearts went out to him last week, when it emerged that his pregnant wife had died after being struck by a car; and now, heartbroken Sylvain Bittner-Lamy has broken his silence.
Sylvain was left devastated after wife Marie-Pier Gagné – who was 40 weeks pregnant with their daughter – was involved in a road accident in their native Quebec.
While doctors were able to save the baby, sadly they could not rescue Marie and she passed away.
In a heart-wrenching post on Facebook, Sylvain paid tribute to his late wife.
“With your listening and your advice, you’ve managed to help many people to grow, especially me. You were a great godmother and you would have been a great mum…You weren’t perfect, and I wasn’t perfect; but we loved each other and we were ready to do anything to live together,” he said.
Of their daughter, he added: “Our little girl, Alexe, inherited your strength and she is doing very well…Take care of you up there, take care of us here; and especially, continue to enlighten us as you did so well.”
Sylvain then shared beautiful photo collages featuring himself and Marie as well as their newborn daughter.
