There’s no escaping the stress in our lives but there are plenty of ways to reduce and manage it so that it doesn’t take over your life.

 

Stress can contribute to hypertension, headaches, depression and anxiety, so it is important you tackle it head on before it gets out of control.

 

1. Grab a snack

Nourish your brain with a handful of nuts, fruit or even raw vegetables and take fine minutes to enjoy it.

 

2. Step away from your phone

Put the phone down and step away from the computer – you’ll instantly feel more relaxed.

 

3. Stop talking

Talking can actually raise your blood pressure so just find a quiet corner for five minutes and avoid eye contact!

 

 

4. Block out the world

Pop your earphones in and listen to some soothing music while you work – you’ll get lost in your own little world.

 

5. Have a laugh

The internet can come in handy when you are looking for a good laugh – have a look for some funny viral video.

 

6. Get a hobby

Repetitive motions like knitting can actually help to soothe anxiety.
