Just yesterday, we reported on the story of the woman who gave birth outside in the street because the birthing centre doors were locked, and another new mum has experienced similar dramatics this week.

A representative from The Department of Social Protection issued a statement today, confirming that a woman gave birth in the social welfare office on Gardiner Street, Dublin, yesterday.

According to the rep, the 25-year-old woman went into labour in the office on Thursday afternoon, with staff coming to her aid as they awaited the arrival of emergency services.

Paramedics and officers from the Dublin Fire Brigade arrived on the scene shortly after.

No further details have been released in the interests of respecting the new mother’s privacy.

We sincerely hope that both Mother and Baby are doing well after what was undoubtedly a traumatic ordeal.

We will keep you updated on the story, should more information be revealed to the media.

SHARE to send well wishes to this new mother and her bundle of joy.
