Crazy cat ladies are no longer those spinsterly old maids we used to hear about as kids.

No, nowadays they're hipsters who knit tiny cat sweaters for fun or even big Hollywood stars like Drew Barrymore.

She joins the ranks of self-confessed feline fanatics Mandy Moore and Taylor Swift. Who knew being a cat lady could be so glam?

The mum-of-two took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with her family's newest additions, saying, "If you can believe, my daughters and I went to rescue a cat and came home with three kittens in need."

Their names are, from left to right, Lucky, Peach, and Fern. Lucky belongs to Drew's five-year-old daughter Olive, Peach is three-year-old Frankie's pet, and Drew gets Fern.

What an adorable bunch of kittens!

Since adopting them, the 42-year-old has been sharing cat-themed posts with her 8.1M Instagram followers, including a video of the kitties at mealtime with hashtags like #girlgang and #crazycatlady.

We are loving Drew's new crew. The mum has always been a fan of rescuing animals, as her dog Douglas was a rescue from the San Fernando Valley. She has also fostered at least nine dogs over the years.

The Never Been Kissed actress is a big supporter of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), and even spoke at their Annual ASPCA Bergh Ball in 2016.

"Animals have given me a rite of passage, a humility and a purpose and a kindness and a lack of cruelty," she told the audience, according to Entertainment Tonight

She said that animals have taught her important lessons, including, "I don't have it in my heart to be rude, mean, cruel, unkind to any person on the planet."

What a wonderful sentiment. And we are happy to see her spreading the love to more adorable animals!
