There is no doubt that Chrissy Teigan and John Legend’s pregnancy announcement was one of the industry’s most celebrated of 2015.

And with Chrissy more than happy to share her nine-month journey with millions of fans and followers online, it’s no surprise she often faces scrutiny at the hands of social media users.

Highlighting this during a recent Twitter post, Chrissy shared an image of herself which had been posted on People magazine’s Twitter feed and ignited a discussion regarding comments which had been posted in connection with the image.

Publicising the model’s burgeoning bump, the magazine paid tribute to the star’s shape, size and style, but it appears a certain feature of the image caused considerable concern among Twitter users – something which Chrissy was quick to address on her own social media channel.

Commenting on the snap which saw the 30-year-old star pose in a swimsuit, one member of the public wrote: “Very cute, but I would get that lump checked out under the armpit.”

Echoing these sentiments, another concerned Twitter user analysed the snap before writing: “It looks like she has a small lump under her armpit. Otherwise, looking good!”

Eager to placate concerned fans, Chrissy took a screenshot of the comments accompanying the image and insisted all was well, writing: “Do not be alarmed. #armpitfatshadow.”

While many can understand the concern behind the comments, some fans of the much-loved model were quick to condemn those who remarked on the photograph, writing: “Why can’t people ever just leave you alone and let you live? Every pic you post, they always gotta point something out.” (sic)

Pouring scorn on what appeared to be genuine, well-meaning concerns, another fan of the star joked: “Also appears you may be getting a beer belly, may want to get that looked at.”

Are Chrissy’s fans right to slam those who raised concern over the star’s appearance, or are they missing the point of the well-meaning remarks?
