The saga of Kerry Katona and estranged husband George Kay has taken another twist today, with the father-of-one hitting back after her tell-all interview.

George has accused Kerry of ‘fabricating stories’, after she opened up about her ‘terrifying’ marriage to him over the weekend.

In an interview with The Sunday People, Kerry revealed that her eldest children ‘begged her to leave’ George, whom she wed in 2014.

She added that George displayed manipulative behaviour to her throughout their marriage, preventing her from seeing her friends and even ‘spitting in her face’.

“I feel like the worst mother in the world, and I will never forgive myself. No child should have to hear what they heard, or see what they saw,” she said.

“He had so much power over me, but I can’t let my children go back to that, even if I could.”

George was made aware of the impending release of Kerry’s interview the night before, and took to Twitter to share his disapproval.

“Fabricated stories made up as a smoke screen to hide the truth! Looking forward to reading The Sunday People tomorrow,” he tweeted, on Saturday night.

His fury was clear the following day, as he took to the social media site to vent his anger over Kerry’s quotes.

“Sad! Gutter level tactics! Fake tears!” he tweeted. “Smoke screen to divert the public from the truth…”

After being hit with a wave of criticism on Twitter, George described the quotes from Kerry’s interview as ‘laughable, extremely incorrect and very misleading’.

Kerry is reportedly set to open up about her experience on Loose Women today. We’ll be glued to our TV screens!

Kerry wed George in September 2014, just months after welcoming their first child, daughter Dylan-Jorge, together.

Their wedded bliss was short-lived, however. A year later, they split after George was reportedly arrested on suspicion of an assault.

The pair reunited shortly after, with Kerry even withdrawing her statement regarding the alleged assault.

She later opened up about why she chose to give her marriage another chance, telling OK! magazine: I know people will say I’m a mug, but is giving my marriage another go a crime?

“We want a fresh start in our marriage, and I’m giddy about that now. We’re all touchy feely.

“I missed him so much, and now I feel like this is a whole new romance again.”

Kerry is also mum to 15-year-old Molly, 14-year-old Lilly-Sue, 10-year-old Heidi, and nine-year-old Max.
